This event was sanctioned by the AHA and judged using the 2004 BJCP Style Guidelines. Detailed style descriptions may be found on the BJCP web page. Entrants were allowed to enter as many beers as they liked but were restricted to one entry per sub-category. Entrants were responsible for placing their beer in the proper category. No entries were reclassified. Some categories were combined at the BABBLE's discretion. Entries in combined categories were judged according to the style originally indicated by the brewer on the entry form.
